About

Introduction Phulara Ridge trek in Uttarakhand is one of a kind. It brings two things into the limelight; the mountain ridges and you. Usually, ridges occur as part of the high-altitude trekking experience. However, on this trek, the ridge itself is the showstopper. The two-hour balancing walk on the ridge that divides two valleys is no less of adventure and reward. Located at a height of 3,700 meters, the ridge will put you in the spotlight surrounded by spectacular views of lofty mountains and cascading valleys. Enjoy the majestic views of Swargrohini and Kedar Kantha peaks. Apart from that, the 5-day trek is an excellent choice for beginners because it offers phenomenal rewards for a trek of this difficulty level. Best Time to Trek The best time to trek to Phulara ridge is summer and autumn. The heavy snow in the winter season makes it difficult to hike on the ridge. The trails are closed during the monsoons. Summer: May-June is the best month to enjoy the lush green meadows of Pushtara bursting with tiny Himalayan flowers. The snow at the ridge starts melting, and the mist of pine and deodar in the air makes it a nostalgic experience. If you are lucky, you can even catch the alpenglow from the campsite of Bhoj Ghadi. Autumn: September and October on the Phulara Ridge trek will welcome you with clear skies and the best views of the mountains. The scenery drastically changes from lush green to rustic hues. The air gets chilly and windy. Difficulty Level Phulara Ridge is an excellent trek for beginners and novices. The trail is moderately easy with gradual ascent and hiking through meadows feels like a walk in the park. However, some people may find longer distances during the daytime a challenge if they have no prior hiking or camping experience. Following a fitness regimen before the trek will immensely help.
Please assemble at Dehradun ISBT to board transportation to Sankri. The quaint town is located about 200 km from Dehradun and takes about 9-10 hours to get there. Enjoy the scene drive accompanied by mountains and river streams.
Trail: The trail steadily climbs uphill into the forests. In between the woods, there are also some clearings where you can take a breather. Campsite: The campsite lies in the thicket of forests by a run stream of water. It is 500 meters from Juda ka Talab, the fam campsite on Kedarkantha trek. Milestone of the day: Enjoy a picturesque lunch by the emerald-green lake. According to mythology, Lord Shiva meditated in this place. He took out a few strands of his hair to form Juda ka Talab.
Trail: The trail gradually rises above the tree line and opens to lush meadows and grand skylines. Campsite: The campsite of Bhoj Ghadi is a flat meadow patch with a river stream flowing nearby. Enjoy the starry night and views of snow-covered mountains. Thrilling point: As you climb to the highest point, you can lay your eyes on Kedarkantha Peak on one side and Phulara Ridge on the other side.
Trail: The initial section of the trail is an uphill battle followed by a long walk on the ridge, and finally descent to Pushtara. Campsite: The campsite of Pushtara is located amidst lush green meadows. Enjoy the welcome on a red and yellow carpet of tiny Himalayan wildflowers. Thrilling point: As you reach the top of Phulara Ridge, feel yourself under the limelight surrounded by a 360-degree view of gigantic mountains and rolling valleys.
Towards the end of the trek, the trail descends completely and follows a zig-zag pattern. As you approach Taluka, the signs of human civilization will begin to appear. As you arrive at the quaint village, you will see well-laid-out markings to the Har ki Dun trail. Transport will be arranged from the Taluka to Sankri.
We check-out from the guest house in Sankri and drive back to Dehradun from Sankri. Expect to reach Dehradun around 8 in the evening. There may be delays due to heavy traffic on the Sankri-Dehradun Road.
