About

A trekkable peak that approaches a height where most mountaineers ascend has a special allure. A trekkable summit, after all, may be climbed if you are well-acclimatised and do not require any climbing expertise. For this precise reason, a lot of hikers travel to Stok Kangri, which is located at a height of about 20,190 feet. Kanamo Summit is a lesser-known peak that reaches about the same elevation, although few people are aware of it (19,600 ft). In the centre of Spiti, tucked away, the Kanamo Peak towers behind the settlements of Kibber and Tashi Gang. This is a part of Spiti that has not yet been affected by modernism or civilisation. Which makes this journey a more sedate, lovely, and difficult alternative to Stok Kangri. Unfortunately, Stok Kangri has been made into a product. Kanamo Peak is a summit that may be reached by hiking, although it's far from being simple. This walk is an endurance challenge, thus excellent physical condition is required. The ascent from Kanamo base camp to the peak is a gruelling ascent on boulder and scree moraine. Additionally, it takes effort at that height to merely move forward one step. In addition to climbing 4,500 feet to the summit, you also have to return to base camp that same day. That requires walking across difficult terrain for about 10 miles in close to 12?14 hours. This walk is just for the fittest, strongest, and most seasoned hikers. The reward for this challenging and daring climb, nevertheless, is magnificent. The view from the peak is similar to what you would see from an aeroplane. You can view over 35 additional peaks, including those in Ladakh, Spiti, Kullu, and Kinnaur, as you stand at what seems to be the top of the globe. A 360-degree panorama of similarly tall mountains is seen. Kanamo's sister peak, the Shilla Peak, is so near you can practically reach out and touch it. It is a gift to be standing on this peak.
